Console Wars and The Reasoning Behind The Lack of a Half Life 3.

Gamers everywhere, everyday mourn. There is no closure in the story they they have fascinated their lives with. Some cry out in rage, claiming Valve has robbed them of that. However, I disagree; I believe Valve has been holding out on us for a greater reason. A reason to worship Valve like gods. The reason you ask? The release of the speculated and officially announced 'Steambox'.

As a great competitive gaming Titan, Valve has to drive their sales using clever tactics to beat the competition. For example, Halo, due to it not being released on any other console than Xbox, gamers are urged to mainly stray to the console despite having little to no computing power. Other than that most gamers would play Ps3 or the seemingly(due to media) unpopular "computer gaming".

The Ps3, never held the hype from Sony's original games. I don't see people Bragging about their scores on Killzone, or beating x level on LBP. Due to this the Ps3's sales where mainly because at the time, their console was open source and had more 'computing power' than most Computers(not any owned by knowledgeable computer users, mind you).

Right now Computer users are thinking "Oh yeah? Well why didn't they release it PC side only?" The reasoning behind that is Valves adamant standpoint in 'The War Against Hackers'. See, Hackers are putting gamers in the position similar to an able-body person arm wrestling a quadriplegic. It's not fair, and it's killing their industry. (Because of this I speculate, Microsoft could be funding hacker organizations)

On a Console, The distribution of unfair software is nearly impossible; and easy to monitor or punish. The SteamBox, like the Xbox needs a Game(Orange Box) to power the sales of their console; to make it better than the rest. This is where the 100+ Million Half Life fans come in.
I also believe that Xbox stole their console from Valve, as well as the computer from Apple. Money is power, eh? Buy all the employees!
